14:00 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Hi everyone, I'm Gerardo Viviers from the RIPE NCC. If you have questions/comments for the presenter and want the Session Chair to read it out, please write it here stating your name/affiliation and I will copy/paste it in the Zoom Q&A.  Keep in mind that there may be up to a 30 second delay for remote participants, so it's better to get your questions in before the question period begins.
14:00 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Please note that all chat transcripts will be archived and made available to the public on https://ripe80.ripe.net/.
14:01 < Jelte> join ussss
14:01 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Next presentation is from Doug Madory on "Visualizing Major Routing Incidents in 3D"
14:01 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> The session has started…
14:02 < mcr> be nice if he could make his slides a bit bigger. Okay, better.
14:02 < mcr> hmm. no, still really fuzzy.
14:03 < simonvik> looks good in the zoom stuff
14:03 < mutax> mcr: its his template, its on full screen on his side already
14:08 < mcr> so the recording is going to be crap. Are the slides posted?
14:09 < mutax> mcr: they should be linked in the agenda
14:09 < blake> mcr: yes, you can get them at the plenary page next to the talk rating button
14:09 < mcr> they aren't uploaded there yet :-(

14:10 < mutax> works for me :D
14:10 < Axu-197032> shift+reload
14:15 < mcr> ah, thank you.
14:20 < blake> I like this "debunking public leak myths"
14:20 < luna> same
14:21 < rhalina> blake: nice you discovered a pattern we didn't particulary plan for :) I like it a lot
14:25 < mcr> My question for the end: (Michael Richardson, Sandelman Software Works): using this visualization and better metric, are there leaks which have been under-appreciated? And can you re-rank the leaks for us?
14:25 < mcr> oops. I lost video/audio.
14:25 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Thank you, I have passed your question to the Session Chair in the Q&A on Zoom.
14:25 < mcr> reload cleared.
14:25 < blake> mcr good question
14:26 < mcr> (3D, sounds like it should volume under the surface, not area under the curve, if I understood correctly...)
14:30 < n-st> Would it be more meaningful to quantify leaks in terms of addresses (or /24 equivalents) rather than counting all prefix lengths the same?
14:30 < blake> re: 3D representations, if folks want to dig deeper into the effectiveness of data visualization, I've been following Dr. Jessica Hullman's work for a while now: http://users.eecs.northwestern.edu/~jhullman/research.html
14:30 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Hi n-st: Could you write your name and organisation please?
14:31 < n-st> I'm Nils Steinger, attending as a private individual, not for my employer.
14:31 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> If you want me to pass your question to the Q&A :)
14:31 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Thank you, I have passed your question to the Session Chair in the Q&A on Zoom.
14:32 < phessler> *applause sign*
14:32 * Axu-197032 applauds.
14:33 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Doug Madory has finished. Unfortunately there is no time to answer the questions.

14:33 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> The next presentation is from Andrei Robachevsky on "New Observations on MANRS".
14:33 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> The presentation has started...
14:37 < mcr> https://map.internetintel.oracle.com/leaks#/id/3549_4788_1434097800 might be the worse leak.
14:44 < ripe_358> join MANRS! and join https://bgpsecurity.club/ today!
14:45 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Andrei Robachevsky has finished.
14:46 < ripe_5> Test
14:47 < Axu-197032> test
14:47 < Aziraphale> Failed
14:47 < nicoo> nicoo (ffgraz.net, AS42729) : Is it possible to use the observatory for one's own AS (or an AS one is a user of) before becoming a MANRS participant?
14:47 < mcr> BGPsecurity club? no link.
14:47 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> Thank you, I have passed your question to the Session Chair in the Q&A on Zoom.
14:48 < Slimey-3213> Q2 needs a "I've not considered it" option
14:48 < Gerardo_ChatMonitor> This session has now ended.

14:50:51 From Stefan Jakob : When my management decides to migrate all the services to the "cloud" do we still need to cope with MANRS?

14:52:47 From Ayane Satomi : @Stefan: I think its rather seamless since you don't need to worry with MANRS
14:53:01 From Ayane Satomi : It's more likely a provider-level compliancy
14:53:27 From Pankaj Raj : Why des it say that: "Claim your RIPE NCC Certified Professional Exam Voucher" before 22 May? As per email communication, the vouchers are valid till 31-Dec-2020.
14:56:48 From Jonathan Steward : I guess the 22nd deadline is by when you have to request the voucher from the goodie bag?
14:57:36 From Ulka Athale : The vouchers emailed to LIRs are indeed valid until 31 December. In addition to that, we are giving away special vouchers for RIPE 80 participants with limited validity. The RIPE 80 goodie bag vouchers need to be claimed before 22 May.
